ABOUT OWL HOUSE STABLES
Our Story
Owl House Stables is a true family run business. It was started up by Louise in 1990 with just a few ponies. From there it has grown into a a much bigger venture, with 35 horses and ponies. Even though the yard has grown, we are true to our roots and have a family friendly ethos. We believe in delivering high quality tuition and pride ourselves on our well trained and willing horses. In 2009 after gaining a wealth of experience in the industry, Louise's daughter Rachel became a full time instructor at Owl House and has worked her way up to become a BHSI (stage 5 performance coach) she also enjoys competing in eventing, dressage and showjumping.
LESSONS
At Owl House we cater for all abilities, from beginners to advanced riders. We have a wide variety of horses to suit your needs, from steady plods to competition horses.
We currently have two surfaced arenas: one is 25x50m and the other is 20x40m. During the summer months we also have dressage and showjumping arenas on grass. A fantastic full course of jump4joy showjumps is available, as well as two further sets of jumps. If you would like a cross country lesson, we have a training course which includes ditches, banks and skinnies.
If you are interested in training for, or taking a British Horse Society assessment you have come to the right place. We are able to train students up to Stage 4 Coach in Complete Horsemanship (used to be BHSII). We also hold assessments at our centre so please get in touch if you are interested and would like to know more.
Owl House Stables is a Pony Club Centre. This is suitable for children of all ages and abilities, from lead rein up to advanced. Becoming a pony club member has many benefits: visit www.pcuk.org for more info. Please get in touch if you would like to join as a centre member.
PRICES AND BOOKING
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are available and the price varies depending on the duration of the lesson and peak or off peak time.
SEMI PRIVATE LESSONS
Want to ride with a friend? Semi private lessons are ideal if you want to ride with a friend of similar ability.
GROUP LESSONS
Group lessons are available for all abilities and cost £27 for 1 hour with a maximum of 8 riders of a similar ability. Because the groups are based on ability, riders are able to progress well.

What You Need To Know
Booking and Cancellations
We are open 7 days a week and have no restrictions on age. Our maximum weight limit is 15.5st or 98kg
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to cancel your booking, we require 24 hours' notice. Cancellations within that period are non-refundable. We will only cancel in extreme conditions and will contact you if this is the case.
Terms and Conditions
Please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear for riding. This can include a shoe with a flat sole and small heel or wellies. PLEASE NOTE FOR SAFETY REASONS WE CANNOT ACCEPT RIDERS IN TRAINERS AND/OR SHORTS. IF YOU ARRIVE IN TRAINERS THIS COULD RESULT IN YOUR SESSION BEING CANCELLED WITHOUT REFUND. Normally you will need to arrive 5 minutes before your lesson time. Please be aware that mounting and dismounting are included in the session time.

HACKS
Come and ride in the beautiful Kent countryside
We are extremely lucky to have a multitude of bridle paths and woods near our stables. We can cater for any rider, whether you would like to go for a gentle stroll or a faster pace (riding assessment required). We welcome larger groups, stag and hen parties or one to one rides. If you would like to book something special (for example a pub ride or afternoon tea hack) we work closely with some fantastic local venues. This is ideal if you are on holiday and want to relax in the beautiful Kent countryside.
